Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)

This species of sea turtle is critically endangered and is the primary source of tortoise shell material. Note that unlike some other sea turtles, Hawksbills make asymmetrical tracks in the sand. Also this species may be poisonous to eat because this species often eats toxic sea creatures.


HYBRIDS

Note that hybrids can occur in the wild between Hawksbill Turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) and Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas) as well as Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta caretta) and Pacific Ridley Turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea)
