Distribution:- Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China (including Hong Kong), Indonesia (Java, Bali, Sulawesi).
Burmese Pythons Python bivittatus have established themselves in large numbers in Southern Florida USA - however cold Winters have been wiping out significant numbers and have kept the population which was expanding rapidly in check.
The Dwarf Burmese Rock Python Python bivittatus progschai occurs in Sulawesi (Indonesia).
Comments:- Usually grows to around 12 ft (3.5 metres) with the largest reliable measurement being 15ft 10 inches(5.74 metres). Those from Sulawesi, Bali and Sumbawa are a dwarf form usually growing to about 2-2.5 metres(6-8 ft.)
