CROCODILE MONITOR
Varanus salvadorii
John Fowler & Rachel Barnes

Distribution:-  New Guinea

Comments:- This prehensile tailed monitor is believed to be longest species of lizard in the world, growing to a maximum length of  2.44 metres (8.01 ft.)
However this species does not weigh as much as the Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis). The Crocodile monitor is sometimes confused with the Asian Water Monitor (Varanus salvator) due to its similar species name.
